Once that was settled, DPR began searching for the right spot. In June 2017, the company bought a two-story, 26,872-square-foot office building at 1801 J St. for $5.25 million. Built-in 1940 and renovated in the mid-1990s, the building's sole occupant had been Sierra Research, though a retail credit association also occupied it at one time. The building included a basement with one of the largest libraries of automotive-related research found anywhere, as collected by Sierra Research.
